Artisan liqueur business bottles a taste of summer to create a new flavoured gin

A North Yorkshire artisan spirit company has added to its award winning range of fruit liqueurs and whisky with the launch of a new flavoured gin.

The Little Red Berry Company Lemon and Thyme flavoured GinRipon based The Little Red Berry Company has built on the success of its 2015 sell out Elderflower & Cucumber flavoured Gin with the addition of a Lemon and Thyme flavoured Gin which was officially launched at the Harrogate Flower last week.

The delicious new gin sees the company collaborating with other local producers by blending organic lemon cordial from East Yorkshire’s Side Oven Bakery with an infusion of thyme from North Yorkshire business Herbs Unlimited with London Dry Gin.

Rachel Jamieson, founder of the company which is now in its fourth year produces approximately 18,000 bottles of liqueurs and gins in small batches by hand, said: “We wanted to create something a bit different to complement our current range.  Liqueurs that are made in the traditional way by steeping the fruit contain quite a lot of added sugar.  The new flavoured gins have less sugar and a fresher taste that makes them work very well in a gin and tonic style drink.

“We are always keen to create something new and innovative for our customers as we’ve developed a great customer base over the last few years.

“Working with thyme was a new challenge for us as it posed different methods for production.  The flavour however, lends itself beautifully to a gin and tonic style tipple is synonymous with a quintessentially British garden, so will make a perfect summer drink.”

Lemon and Thyme flavoured Gin and other products from The Little Red Berry Company, including their award-winning Blackberry Whisky and Blackcurrant Vodka Liqueur, are available in independent retailers and online and at a number of shows and events throughout the summer including this weekend’s Tour de Yorkshire event at Selby farm shop, Bert’s Barrow where the team will also be running a pop up gin bar for revellers.
