Our deliciouslyorkshire awards are well recognised as one of the best measures of the fantastic food and drink form the Yorkshire and Humber region. Now in their eighth year for 2012, we know the recipe for success!
We have increased interest, media coverage and prominence year on year and we are aiming higher again this time.

To enter into any of these categories you must be a member of deliciouslyorkshire and also produce your products within Yorkshire and Humber.

All products will be judged on taste, appearance and packaging where applicable. All tasting will be done blind and marked on appearance, aroma, taste and texture.

Best New Product
All entries that have been launched within the last 12 months will be considered for this category. This is not a paid for entry.
Judges will be looking for a stand out product that has made immediate impact since its launch, one that has maybe performed over and above initial expectations, one that has become widely known in a short time.

Best Yorkshire Breakfast
Awarded for commitment to, and creative use of, regional produce on breakfast menus – most able to demonstrate the following:
1. The number of locally sourced or homemade ingredients on the breakfast menu
2. The choice of dishes to suit each guest
3. Use of deliciouslyorkshire branding on menu, website and marketing materials
All entries in this category will have to give evidence of local sourcing, and the top 25% will then be mystery dined.

Best Use of Local Produce on a Menu
Awarded to the establishment that most can clearly demonstrate their commitment to using regional produce. This category will be judged on the following:
1. Sustained use of regional produce on menu (farm gate to plate, seasonality)
2. Amount of regional food as a total of the menu – (provide examples of menu)
3. Evidence of use of regional food (provide a list of suppliers)A shortlist of entrants will be visited for judging of the quality and presentation of the menu, staff knowledge and customer experience.

Best Retailer of Local Produce
Awarded to the retailer most able to demonstrate the following:
1. Commitment to the listing of regional products (provide a list of local suppliers)
2. Effective point of sale to promote regional products (please show examples)A shortlist of entrants will be visited by a mystery shopper, once paper evidence has been judged.

Outstanding Newcomer
Any business launched since 2011 who has entered the awards will be considered for this category. This is not a paid for entry.
Judges will be looking for a stand-out company who have made an impact since their launch, one which has performed over and above expectations or made a difference to the region in a short space of time.

Best Distributor
A recent addition to the DY awards categories, the Best Distributor award will be given to the company best able to demonstrate an effective logistics and distribution service, offering flexibility and a complete supply chain for Yorkshire food companies.
A brief written entry will be required for all companies entering this category.

Best Exporter
This category is in its third year, introduced to highlight our work in export and our promotion of the deliciouslyorkshire brand to foreign markets.
The winner of this award will be the company best able to demonstrate the most innovative use of resources and activities to achieve success and growth overseas.
Evidence required includes list of export markets, briefly how you achieved this, and your export plans for the future.

DY Champion
The deliciouslyorkshire Champion award was created to celebrate an individual who has contributed significantly to the food and drink industry, helping to promote the fantastic food and drink in Yorkshire & Humber.
Past champions include Janet Oldroyd Hulme, Judy Bell, Stephanie Moon, James Mackenzie and Tim Bilton.
We welcome any suggestions awards@deliciouslyorkshire.co.uk and the winner is chosen by our expert judging panel.

DY Consumer Choice
The Consumers’ Choice is the winners’ winner! The winners from each product category go forward for final judging in front of a group of consumers to find the best one overall.
This award was introduced in 2011, and replaces the Supreme Product Award.

2011- 2012 DY Awards
Over 400 food lovers attended the glittering deliciouslyorkshire awards at Harrogate’s Rudding Park to celebrate the exceptional achievements of the region’s food and drink businesses.
Top chef Tim Bilton, from The Butchers Arms in Hepworth, was crowned the deliciouslyorkshire Champion 2011-2012, and Barnsley-based drink producer Boozy Infusions received the Consumers’ Choice Award, a brand new addition to this year’s event, for its Jamaican Ginger Cake Infusion.
Cath Clelland, chair of deliciouslyorkshire, said: “Year on year the quality of entrants has been exemplary and reinforces Yorkshire’s position as a leading force in the UK’s food and drink sector.”

2010-2011 DY Awards
19 companies scooped the trophies at the 2010 DY awards, featuring some of the most successful and original companies from around the region, following a record breaking 450 entries.
Anna’s Happy Trotters won the prestigious deliciouslyorkshire Supreme Product award, sponsored by the Proudfoot Group, for its Pork Belly after beating off stiff competition from all award winners who were collectively pitched against one another to win this desired commendation on the night.
The deliciouslyorkshire Champion, sponsored by Rollits, was awarded to James Mackenzie, Chef and Proprietor at The Pipe & Glass Inn in Beverley, East Yorkshire. The judges considered James as someone who has gone above and beyond to promote and develop the region’s food and drink industry, infusing his passion and dedication, as well as influencing and inspiring staff and customers.

2009-2010 DY Awards
20 award winners of the fifth annual deliciouslyorkshire Awards were announced during a ceremony at Rudding Park, Harrogate on November 9th 2009.
Yummy Yorkshire Ice Cream Company’s Lou’s Liquorice Ice Cream has won the prestigious deliciouslyorkshire Supreme Product, sponsored by Proudfoot Group. The product was chosen out of all the winners from all the categories.
The deliciouslyorkshire Champion, sponsored by Rollits, was awarded to Stephanie Moon, Consultant Chef at the Clocktower Restaurant at Rudding Park, and Chef Tutor at Leeds Thomas Danby College. The judges considered Stephanie as someone who has gone above and beyond to promote and develop the region’s food and drink industry, infusing her passion and dedication, as well as influencing and inspiring staff and customers.
