First established in 2017, the Yorkshire Pudding Pie Company are a family-run business based in the heart of North Yorkshire. The idea came from a couple with a love for Sunday roast leftovers, who one day decided to turn these leftovers into a pie with a twist!
The creative process lasted many months – the aim was to create the perfect pie which held together, had the right balance of pudding and filling and wasn’t soggy. It was discovered that replacing pastry with Yorkshire pudding batter made a lighter eat and avoided the saturated fat of normal pastry pies. Many renowned chefs have tried to master similar processes and failed! After much practice, the world’s first Yorkshire Pudding Pie was born.
Using only ingredients from Yorkshire, the Yorkshire Pudding Pie Company now have a wide range of locally sourced pie fillings on offer including Yorkshire Wagyu beef, Yorkshire Old Spot sausage, and chicken & stuffing.
Once the product was tested and trialled, and after having successfully sold their products at various food festivals, the Yorkshire Pudding Pie Company came to Garbutt + Elliott with a requirement for business growth, brand proposition and the desire to commercialise the product.
Through Garbutt + Elliott’s network, a small team of investors (all with a background in food and beverage) were put together to help raise finance and provide direction for business growth.
Garbutt + Elliott helped position the Yorkshire Pudding Pie Company for its next stage in development by providing accounting, management information and taxation services. One of the most significant development phases included the funding and creation of a purpose built production unit in Malton.
Since working with Garbutt + Elliott, the Yorkshire Pudding Pie Company have not only developed their new working space but also had approval for their range to be stocked in the stores of a national supermarket chain.

As well as the initial growth successes, there has now been agreement to take the business to the next level and begin the second phase of growth, which includes developing their online proposition. The goal is to make this proposition a fully developed ecommerce platform and to establish Yorkshire Pudding Pie as a loved UK brand.
