Coffee Care launch ‘Champ’s Coffee’ to support the Candlelighters charity

Coffee Care and Candlelighters have joined forces to release a new coffee to help raise vital funds.

Champ’s Coffee, named in honour of Champ, the elephant mascot who represents the children’s cancer charity, has been created using Nicaraguan Maragogype, and was chosen as a nod to the mascot as the Maragogype coffee varietal is notably large and often referred to as ‘the Elephant Bean’.

Coffee Care, a second-generation family business based in Skipton, have been working with the Leeds based charity since 2024, offering tea and coffee donations as well as ongoing technical support for their coffee machine at their family support centre.

Their mission is to bring light to every family affected by childhood cancer across Yorkshire by providing support and investing in vital research to improve the outcomes and lives of children with cancer.

Sarah McCaughan, Operations Director at Coffee Care said: “We first came across Candlelighters through our delivery driver Iain, whose family received invaluable support from the charity when his grandson was diagnosed with cancer. They do such amazing work, and we’re honoured to support them through Champ’s Coffee.

“These beans are exceptional, and we wanted to be able to offer something truly special so those who appreciate great coffee can also be safe in the knowledge that they are supporting a really worthwhile cause.”

Available in whole beans and as ground coffee, 20% of sales from the 227g retail coffee packs will go directly to Candlelighters to support their fundraising efforts.
