The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa, Bolton Abbey will be closed for two weeks this January for a programme of enhancement, refurbishment and maintenance across various areas of the hotel, and its two restaurants.
The investment will total around £500k, supporting local trade people and professionals, including Malton-based Rachel McLane, an interior designer whose focus is high-end hospitality businesses.
In addition to a number of guest bathrooms getting a luxury makeover, work will also take place to benefit the interiors of both restaurants. The Brasserie will be enhanced to create a seamless dining experience throughout its whole area, retaining the colourful and contemporary style for which it is renowned, while The Burlington Restaurant will have new chandeliers, new soft furnishings and window treatments to further enhance its elegant ambience.
Other areas include the installation of a new heating system, and the re-roofing of the Wharfedale wing, along with general property repair and maintenance, to enhance guest comfort and improve functionality and energy efficiencies.

This project is part of a programme of development and expansion across the various properties in the Devonshire Hotels and Restaurants Group, planned over the next three years. This will include the expansion of the group’s collection of holiday cottages on the Bolton Abbey estate, to seven in total (currently two) by the end of the year.

The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa, including The Burlington Restaurant and The Brasserie will re-open on 12 January, with a further six bedrooms in the Old Wing re-opening on the 25 January, which complete the project.
