A new and exciting community garden is being planned for Kirkstall and they want you to be involved. Their aim is to brighten up the area & make it a little safer for the Kirkstall community as well as promoting a healthier lifestyle.
Paul the founder decided to set up the garden when he noticed lots lots of open un used space around Kirkstall yet people in the community had small to no growing space / gardens. This is when he had the idea to build a community garden so that all people in Kirkstall and surrounding areas could come together share ideas, learn new skills & grow together. There are so many health benefits to growing your own but it also promotes recycling, looking after nature, a pro social have a go attitude & encourages children to learn about & eat healthily.
The group are waiting on confirmation for land use and then hope host a community meeting & officially form the committee & register the charity. Then they can work with the community members & volunteers to clear the plots & build the garden. They want local people to be involved for more details email kirkstallgarden@gmail.com.
