Winter Farm Walks & ‘Wassail’ Open Day

Side Oven Bakery at Foston on the Wolds are to host their popular Winter Farm Walks Open Day again this month.

On Sunday 26th January the farm and bakery will once again be open to the public from 10am-3pm for guided farm and bird walks throughout the day led by Farmer Tim around the family’s organic arable farm.  Home to many species of wildlife, each walk will take approximately 1 hour and are an ideal way to enjoy the countryside in beautiful rural East Yorkshire.

Also back by popular demand, are the Makara Morris dancer. The group of 6 will be performing a ‘Wassail’ at midday, an Anglo-Saxon blessing of the fruit trees traditionally held at new year with a gathering of local people, in the hope of a bountiful harvest in the Autumn.

The bakery will be open throughout serving a wide range of freshly baked breads, croissant, cakes and hot takeaway refreshments
