Award-winning baker to share skills

An award-winning baker and master preserve maker is set to share her skills in a series of workshops.

Rosalind Waugh, founder of Rosalind’s Larder is now passing on her culinary knowledge and enthusiasm to eager learners in the state-of-the-art training kitchen at Middlesbrough’s Live Well Centre.

Drawing inspiration from her Italian heritage and love of home cooking, the retired NHS consult radiographer started out making biscuits and preserves, often sourcing fresh produce from the allotment she tends with husband Alan.

Fast forward several years and her products have been awarded some of the most prestigious accolades in the food and drink industry including a very rare 3 Great Taste Stars, Great British Food Awards, Dalemain Marmalade awards and a hat-trick of Deliciously Yorkshire awards too.

Rosalind said: “The facilities at the Live Well Centre are fantastic, and it’s a great place to learn the sort of skills that will stand you in good stead for years to come.

“The classes are great fun, and it’s a joy to be able to pass on some of the knowledge and skills I’ve picked up along the way, and in turn my students go on to surprise and delight their family and friends.

“In time I’d love to be able to offer classes to younger people or those who live on their own and do not know how to cook good, healthy food that is different to the usual British fare.”
