HECK Launch ‘Meals that Matter’ Community Campaign

Yorkshire family run business HECK! has launched a new community initiative, aimed at bringing people together and tackling rural isolation and loneliness.

Rooted in HECK!’s belief that good food has the power to connect people, their new Meals That Matter campaign focuses on creating warm, welcoming moments around shared meals – particularly amongst older residents across Yorkshire.

Designed to support communities where distance, limited transport and changing rural life can leave people feeling isolated, especially during the colder, darker months, the campaign launched in December with events taking place in Topcliffe, Asenby, Kirklington and Sessay.

Members of the HECK! team hosted gatherings for residents to enjoy a hot, hearty meal including cottage pie, toad in the hole, stews and soups, all with a large spoonful of great company and festive cheer!

Working with local community groups, volunteers and partners, the team plans to host lots more get-togethers in 2026 and reflects Heck’s long-standing commitment to doing good through food, supporting wellbeing and strengthening the communities it serves.

HECK! co-founder Jamie Keeble said: “We started HECK! as a family business here in Yorkshire and community has always been at the heart of what we do.

“Meals That Matter is about using good food to bring people together, especially those who might be feeling isolated or forgotten. If sharing a warm meal can put a smile on someone’s face or help them feel a little less alone, then that really matters to us.”
