SeaGrown attend Royal Garden Party

The team at an innovative Scarborough based seaweed cultivation business attended the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace recently after being nominated by DEFRA for their pioneering work.

SeaGrown Directors Captain Wave Crookes and Professor Laura Robinson attended the prestigious event, which was hosted by the King and Queen.

Wave said: “It was truly inspiring to see the Royal family and speak with so many attendees throughout the afternoon.

“We are immensely proud and grateful that SeaGrown’s pioneering work in sustainable seaweed cultivation and ocean restoration was recognised with this invitation and we’d like to say a huge thank to the DEFRA for nominating us for the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful and memorable day.”

SeaGrown’s innovative approach to seaweed cultivation develops sites that act as underwater oases, where seaweed can flourish, reducing pollution and improving water quality, whilst capturing carbon from the atmosphere and ocean and mitigating the impacts of climate change.
