Deliciouslyorkshire Taste Awards 2022

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the 2022 Deliciouslyorkshire Taste Awards!

The biggest awards of their kind in the North of England, entries are now open for food and drink businesses throughout Yorkshire and the Humber.

Jointly headline sponsored by the new School for Business and Society at the University of York and FixOurFood, an ambitious research programme inspiring action across Yorkshire to co-create a regenerative food system, the awards have grown to become the largest and most respected food and drink accolades in the North of England.

Across 23 categories covering, beer, spirits, bakery, pork pies, meat and condiments, amongst others, our judging panel will be working their way through this year’s entries to determine our 2022 shortlist and eventual winners. Announced at a glittering, black-tie event on Wednesday 9th November at the Pavilions of Harrogate, it’s set to be another spectacular night celebrating the regions finest with the evening hosted by artisan food expert Nigel Barden and Chef Consultant Steph Moon.  As well as revealing each of our category winners, the evening will also culminate with the announcement of our coveted Supreme Champion, awarded to the product which our judging panel agree is the standout entry of the year.

Do you know a Local Food Hero who deserves some recognition?  As part of your entry, you’ll be invited to nominate someone from our industry who has gone above and beyond to champion and promote Yorkshire food and drink throughout Yorkshire and beyond.  Previous winners have included Karl and Mandy Avison of Cedarbarn Farm Shop, broadcaster and our own head judge Nigel Barden, and the late and great Judy Bell from Shepherds Purse Cheeses.  This year the Local Food Hero is being awarded in Judy Bell’s name, in recognition of the outstanding and tireless work she did to support food and drink businesses.

Get involved! Entries are open now online and the process couldn’t be simpler.  Simply fill in your business details along with the categories and products you wish to enter.  We’ll be back in touch with details of how, when and where to submit your entries, which are being judged at the Yorkshire Showground in early September by a host of food writers and critics, chefs and supermarket buyers. The last date for entries in all categories is Wednesday 31st August 2022.

The Taste Awards 2022 are a great way to get your products in front of a huge range of industry experts and a fantastic opportunity to market your products and businesses on a huge regional stage.

Feedback from our esteemed judging panel will also be available after the Awards themselves on each one of your entries.
