After a week of intense judging which saw many of the county’s food and drink experts deliberating over hundreds of entries, the hotly anticipated Deliciouslyorkshire Taste Awards shortlist 2021 is finally here!
Whilst many events have enjoyed their return to normality this year, the Taste Awards went one better by receiving a record number of entries into our annual celebration of Yorkshire’s thriving food and drink industry.
The awards, which are the biggest food and drink accolades in the North of England, attracted hundreds of entries from businesses of all shapes and sizes from across the county and we were thrilled to be able to run them once again after being cancelled last year due to the pandemic.
Judging the entries this year were a panel of industry experts including chefs, broadcasters, writers and buyers all led by head judge Nigel Barden who was joined by chef Steph Moon, and a host of other enthusiastic foodies who carefully worked their way through over 450 entries across a range of categories including Best Pork Pie, Best Bakery, New Business and Best Use of Local Produce on a Menu.
Nigel said: “Having been involved in these awards for a number of years now it’s an absolute pleasure to see them continue to grow year on year and attract new and innovative products and businesses.
“Each year without fail we turn up something exciting that we haven’t seen before and something that blows our socks off and it’s a testament to the resilience and passion of the industry here in Yorkshire that even after the last 18 months, our food and drink producers are still innovating, collaborating and thriving.”
This year’s winners will be announced at a glittering black tie event at the Pavilions of Harrogate on Wednesday 10th November. Hosted by Nigel and Steph, the event will welcome businesses, producers and sponsors, who will enjoy a drinks reception and specially designed menu featuring many of the shortlisted and winning products.
The Taste Awards shortlist is available below, and tickets for the award ceremony are also available to buy through this website by visiting the Awards Dinner Tickets page or by clicking on the button below.
Congratulations to all our shortlisted businesses and we look forward to seeing you all at the Pavilions in November!
