Aphrodisiac Valentine’s ice creams on the menu as Yummy Yorkshire hooks up with fellow Yorkshire producer

Yummy Yorkshire, the award-winning Huddersfield ice cream producer, is aiming to get pulses racing with the creation of several special Valentine’s Day flavours full of aphrodisiac ingredients.

It has joined forces with fellow Yorkshire food producer Puckett’s Pickles to create an unusual Carrot & Cardamom ice cream using the aromatic spice, which is deemed to be a powerful aphrodisiac in certain cultures.

According to Yummy Yorkshire co-founder Louise Holmes who is responsible for the creation of new flavours, the ice cream is as rich and exotic as the Puckett’s Pickles chutney which it is based on; heavenly swirls of both eastern and western flavours with an added creaminess from the dairy ice cream.

Yummy Yorkshire is known for using the products of local producers where possible and decided to work with Puckett’s after tasting their produce at a deliciouslyorkshire networking event where Yummy Yorkshire was showcasing a special one-off Shepherd’s Purse Harrogate Blue ice cream.

Speaking about the collaboration Sarah Puckett, founder of Puckett’s Pickles, says: “It was great fun working with Louise and seeing my chutneys being made into ice cream. Who would have thought you could combine the two! And my goodness the resulting ice cream tastes so delicious.

“If you take into consideration the additional health benefits of cardamom in treating things like respiratory allergies, digestive problems and even depression, it surely makes it one of Yummy Yorkshire’s most medicinal flavours ever. There’s no need to feel guilty indulging in this one!”

As well as Carrot & Cardamom, Yummy Yorkshire is also debuting a sweet Almond ice cream, a fiery Chocolate & Chilli ice cream, a spicy-sweet Honey & Ginger and is putting its award-winning Basil flavour back on the menu for Valentine’s Day.

All flavours have gone on sale at Yummy Yorkshire’s ice cream parlour and are also available for restaurants, delis, farm shops and independent retailers to order.

Louise says: “We believe that Valentine’s Day is perfect for bringing people together to share intimate moments and what better way to do so than with some decadent ice cream. We’re sure that one of our five aphrodisiac flavours will appeal to ice cream aficionados and lovers everywhere this Valentine’s Day. If these are too adventurous, there’s always good old Chocolate or Double Choc Fudge Brownie to indulge in.”
