A Vale of York ice cream maker is celebrating after winning a contract to supply its premium ice cream to the newest Saga cruise ship.
Acaster Malbis based family ice cream business *Yorvale* won the business after impressing Saga development chefs with a new range of Fusion Inspired ice creams that will be served in the flagship East meets West Restaurant on board the newly refurbished Saga Sapphire when it departs for its maiden voyage on 26th March.
The range, developed in response to demand from Saga travellers who are accustomed to high quality food and who can afford to treat themselves, includes mouthwatering flavour combinations like Lemon, Honey and Ginger, Papaya, Kiwi and Mint, Rose and Lychee, Cinnamon & Pecan and Mango & Lime. All of the ice creams are made from Yorvale’s own farm fresh milk, Yorkshire double cream and natural ingredients that are locally sourced wherever possible.
Commenting on the contract, Yorvale Director Lesley Buxton said; “We have been supplying Saga through Kent Frozen Foods for four years now but this is the first time that we have been involved in a recipe development project of this scale. We’re flattered and delighted that Saga likes the new flavours as much as we do.”
Yorvale ice cream is available nationwide via selected wholesalers and from farm shops, independent retailers, Waitrose, Co-Op, Booths, Sainsburys, Tesco and Morrisons throughout Yorkshire.
