Calder’s Kitchen was formed by husband and wife team Andrew and Anne-Marie Calder in 2015. We started making Piccalilli in our family kitchen after discovering Andrew’s late Granddad, Charlie’s favourite family recipe and deciding to ‘give it a go’. After receiving amazing feedback and encouragement to get our products out to a wider audience we began trading on a modest scale in 2015, testing the market place with our classic Piccalilli before adding two additional lines, Chillililli (Piccalilli with a sweet chilli glow) and then Sillylilli (deliciously hot and spicy). In 2016 we were awarded a Guild of Fine Food Great Taste Award for our Classic Piccalilli.
What makes our Piccalilli different? Using our traditional, fresh ingredients, pickling and cooking method, our customers tell us they enjoy the unique fresh flavour and crunch. We are regularly told ‘it’s the best we’ve ever tasted’, and, ‘Calder’s Kitchen Piccalilli takes us back to when Piccalilli was always this good!’
We supply over 50 local, independent food retailers across Yorkshire and the north east of England including farm shops, deli’s, butchers, cheese shops and bakery’s. We also provide catering packs for restaurants, cafe’s and pubs – Fantastic for a Ploughman’s, cheese board, pies and platters! Customers from further afield can order directly from our website.
