The Yorkshire Food Farming and Rural Network, which Deliciouslyorkshire are part of the Executive Committee for, has secured legacy funding from the Partnership Investment Fund Limited, to offer a training support programme for the benefit of rural and farming SMEs in North Yorkshire.
The aim of the programme is to enhance knowledge in basic business skills and support businesses in gaining accredited practical skills training to enhance and retain a skilled work force in North Yorkshire’s farming and rural communities. The training support programme will offer financial support towards essential and/or accredited courses, continuous professional development, or further education. Funding is limited and places will be given on a first-come basis. We will however run a waiting list for each course and will assess a repetition of popular courses in 2023.
The training offer will be focused around six themes:
Health and Safety
Farm business skills and accounting
Mental health and well-being
Local food producers accredited courses
You must be self-employed or employed by an SME based in rural North Yorkshire Authority area – see map HERE
This is defined as:
towns, villages and hamlets with populations below 10,000 and the wider countryside
market or ‘hub towns’ with populations of up to 30,000 that serve their surrounding rural areas as centres of employment and in providing services
· Training will be funded at 80% with applicants contributing 20% of the cost which will be paid on booking.
Location and dates
Training will be offered in various locations across rural North Yorkshire with a mix of ‘in-person’ and ‘on-line’ training options dependent on the course.
Training courses will take place between October 2022 and March 2023.
