Ingredients
600g topside beef, diced
1 onion, peeled and sliced
2 carrots, peeled and chopped
1 celery stick, chopped
25g butter, diced
1 tbsp tomato puree
1 tsp dried mixed herbs
150ml brown ale (we like Wold Top Brewery!)
300ml beef stock
25g plain flour
Fresh parsley, roughly chopped
Salt and pepper to season

Method
- Place the beef, onion, carrots, celery, butter, tomato puree, mixed herbs, brown ale, beef stock and seasoning in your slow cooker. Cook on low for 7 hours.
- After 7 hours, stir in the flour and cook for a further 1 hour so that the sauce thickens.
- Cook the Bannisters potatoes as per instructions.
- Once cooked, remove from the over and split with a sharp knife. Load your cooked potatoes with the casserole and sprinkle with fresh parsley and a shake of black pepper.
