Get a head start on National Cheese Toastie Day on 27th October with this delicious version from the team at The Yorkshire Creamery in Hawes. Undeniably one of the nation’s favourite comfort foods, The Yorkshire Creamery, part of the historic Wensleydale Dairy Products are launching the annual day to celebrate the ultimate snack and are inviting the nation to show its love for the mighty toastie by dusting off their own toastie machine. Using their Yorkshire Red cheese paired with pineapple and ham, this toastie channels a pineapple pizza and is the perfect lunchtime pick me up! 200g Yorkshire Red cheese.

1 tbsp Yorkshire Butter

Yorkshire ham

Finely chopped pineapple chunks

2 slices bread



  1. Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Spread Yorkshire Butter onto one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place one slice of bread butter side down in the pan.
  4. Top each piece with one slice of cheese and about 2 tbsp of the chopped pineapple.
  5. Place remaining slice of bread on top with the butter side up. When the bottom of the sandwich is golden brown, flip the toastie, and cook until browned on the other side, about 2 – 3 minutes.  Enjoy!
