Regal Food Group Receives Prestigious Queen’s Award

A Bradford based family run food and drink manufacturer are celebrating after receiving a prestigious national accolade.

Regal Food Products Group Plc were awarded The Queen’s Award for Enterprise for its excellence and success within International Trade, the UK’s highest accolade in business 

The West Yorkshire company, who were established over 30 years ago, began life supplying a small selection of bakery products to grocery shops within the local area, initially to meet the growing needs of their South Asian cutomers.  Since then the business has expanded and now manufacturer and distribute over 400 products including a wide range of both South Asian and mainstream bakery items, confectionery and drinks including crisps, cooking marinades and cakes.

Exporting to over 40 countries across the glode, the company’s success has seen overseas sales grow by 77% over the last three years and the business now supply over 3,000 independent stores and major supermarket chains, including Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Lidl. 

Younis Chaudhry, the groups CEO said: “As a Bradford business we are extremely proud and honoured to have been granted this award by Her Majesty the Queen. With our exports portfolio now spanning over 40 countries, this acknowledgement is really the icing on the cake, it’s a gift from Regal to Regal and it doesn’t get any better than that.”

Now in their 56th year, The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, are the highest official honours for British businesses and aim to recognise those who excel in a variety of areas including international trade, innovation, sustainable development and promoting opportunity.

Each award is valid for five years and winners are invited to a royal reception and are presented with the award at their company premises by one of the Queen’s representatives, a Lord-lieutenant. Winners are also able to fly the Queen’s Awards flag at their main office as well as being allowed to use the emblem on their packaging.
