
The team at Masham based Rosebud Preserves are celebrating after being awarded a prestigious Gold at the World Marmalade Awards recently.
The annual competition, which is held at Dalemain Mansion & Historic Gardens in Penrith, Cumbria are celebrating their 20th anniversary year and welcomed over 3,200 entries from as far afield as Japan, New Zealand, South Korea and South America.
Aiming to set an international standard for marmalade making the awards bring together enthusiasts from across the world to raise money for charity.
Family run Rosebud Preserves were awarded the top spot for their Yorkshire Whisky Marmalade, which combines Seville oranges with locally sourced Filey Bay Flagship Single Malt Whisky, made from 100% homegrown barley and matured in ex-Bourbon casks.
Owner Elspeth Biltoft said: “We’re absolutely delighted with our Gold medal at this year’s World Marmalade Awards.
“Rich and full-bodied, it’s a marriage of exceptional flavours, and was created out of a special collaboration between us and the team at The Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. It’s absolutely delicious.”
Rosebud has been making their jams, marmalades, chutneys and jellies from their base in North Yorkshire, since 1989. Founded by Elspeth Biltoft with her principles of sourcing locally and using traditional recipes and time-honoured techniques, their range of products are stocked in high end retailers throughout the country and across the world.
