Sing Gin Wins Two Silver Medals

Sing Gin Wins Two Silver Medals in the International Wine and Spirit Competition 2018

A family run gin company are celebrating after being awarded two Silver medals at the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) 2018.

Sing Gin, run by Ian Thompson and twin sons Richard and James from Kettlesing in the Yorkshire Dales, won the prestigious awards in both the London Dry Gin and Gin and Tonic categories.

The awards, which were established in 1969 are some of the highest honours in the industry with entries judged over two stages by over 400 experienced industry experts.

Sing Gin is one of the few gins, and the only one in Yorkshire, crafted from the grape.  Used in juniper spirits since the 1300’s, grape gives the gin a silky smooth finish that blends with the seven hand-crushed botanicals which include mint, orange peel and flax, a historic Yorkshire crop.

Owner Richard Thompson said: “We’re absolutely delighted to win these two highly sought after medals from the International Wine and Spirit Competition 2018. One of our aims is to put grape-based spirits on the map and we’re hoping that with the backing of these prestigious silver medals, we’ll be able to do so.”

Sing Gin is available to buy online at www.singgin.co.uk and at independent bars and retailers throughout the region.
