The Coniston Hotel are set to celebrate 25 years of culinary excellence next month, with a very special collaborative dinner.
On Friday 1st November, the team will host A Menu Through the Years, a nostalgic culinary experience of the last quarter century in the family run hotel.
Set amongst a 1400-acre estate, The Coniston has been owned by the Bannister family for more than 50 years. Starting out life as a farm shop selling produce grown on the estate, over the years the business has evolved, becoming one of North Yorkshire’s most sought after destination hotels.
The event will see the hotel welcoming back their first ever Head Chef, Steph Moon, who will collaborate with current Head Chef Thomas Robertson, to present a very special one-off menu, featuring dishes from past and present menus, all served in their flagship Restaurant, The View.
Courses will be interspersed with stories from the chefs, reminiscing about The Coniston’s history, including more about The Bannister family, the dishes that have been served, and the magnificent people who’ve come through our doors.
The menu will include Yorkshire Tapas canapes, featuring produce from a range of fantastic local producers, before diners tuck into a trio of fish dishes as part of a specially designed starter. The main course will include Belly Pork & Home-made Black Pudding, followed by Deconstructed Trifle, Lemon & Lime, White Chocolate and Cherry Sponge to finish.
Each chef will also be on hand to discuss the history and provenance of the special menu, along with stories from The Coniston told by members of staff past and present
