Yorvale named Manufacturer of the Year

The team at a North Yorkshire ice cream producer are celebrating after being named Manufacturer of the Year at The Press BusinessiQ Awards 2024.

Yorvale, based at Acaster Malbis took home the prestigious accolade at a ceremony held at York Racecourse, where this year’s winner, which included awards for Best New Business, Best Family Business and Business Innovation of the year amongst others, were unveiled.

The Awards, which are open to all businesses aim to celebrate success, recognise achievement and highlight the innovative people and companies throughout York district.

A small independent business that has built a solid reputation for supplying award-winning range of products to businesses across the UK for over 35 years, Yorvale is run by husband-and-wife team Ian and Lesley Buxton.

Founded in 1989 on a small, rented farm making 12 flavours of ice cream, they have since grown the businesses into an award-winning company offering over 40 flavours of ice cream, sorbet and non-dairy options – with the capacity to produce 1900 litres per hour.

Owner Ian said: “The team have continued to strive for growth whilst consistently delighting our customers with our premium products and service.

“A big thank you to all our staff that help to make this happen, we couldn’t do this without them and of course our wonderful customers that keep coming back for more ice cream.”
