A family run farm diversification business have introduced some innovative ways of getting their award-winning products to the public during the coronavirus lockdown.
Yummy Yorkshire, based at Denton Dale near Huddersfield, would normally be selling their ice cream directly to the public from their on-farm ice parlour as well as welcoming diners into the popular Hide and Hoof restaurant.
Due to the restrictions, the team, run by husband and wife Jeremy and Louise Holmes have introduced some new initiatives including a Delivery Service, Call and Collect and ‘Cone to Home’ which allows customers to buy scoops of ice cream along with cones and flakes to enjoy at home.
Owner Jeremy said: “We realised that we would need to work in different ways over the coming weeks and months to enable us to still operate under the lockdown restrictions. It’s not just our staff who rely on us but also a number of other local producers who supply our restaurant with their produce.
“By introducing a click and collect service we have been able to keep the restaurant supplying fantastic, home-made food to our customers and our delivery service is helping those isolating in the local area to get fresh produce direct to their door.
“We’ve been really overwhelmed by the response and support to the changes we made, particularly to the ‘Cone to Home’ service which has proven very popular!”
Phone lines for ordering are now open from 9am until 5pm Monday to Friday to take orders for hot food, Call & Collect and home delivery orders (minimum spend may apply)
Hot Food from the Hide and Hoof restaurant is now available on Wednesday – Saturday evenings as well as all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a larger menu including breakfast butties, flatbreads, burgers, fish & chips and take away hot drinks.
Orders can be placed by calling the team on 01226 762551 / Option 3 and further information on menus and ice cream flavours available can be found on the news and events section of their website www.yummyyorkshire.co.uk
