Win a money can’t buy prize in rapeseed oil producer’s final anniversary competition

Throughout 2018, Thixendale based rapeseed oil producer Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil has been celebrating its tenth anniversary by teaming up with some of Yorkshire’s best brands to offer competition prizes for their legion of loyal fans.

The team’s tenth and final competition prize is bound to pique the interest of gin lovers as with the help of Masons Yorkshire Gin, they have created a bespoke gin using wild gooseberries foraged at the family farm to celebrate the end of the milestone anniversary.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil’s marketing manager Jennie Palmer said: “We have had some amazing prizes thanks to the generosity of Yorkshire businesses like Side Oven Bakery, Wold Top Brewery and the Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School, but we wanted our final prize to be something to do with the farm where we grow the oilseed rape and bottle the oil.

“I found some wild gooseberries whilst foraging with my children and had the idea that we could maybe use them to create a one off spirit. Our ‘can do’ friends at Masons were only too happy to oblige and the result is a never to be repeated secret blend of pure Yorkshire water, Breckenholme gooseberries, Yorkshire grown apples and selected botanicals.

“The gin has been made in the smallest copper still Masons have with only one bottle available. The winner will have the chance to name their gin too.”

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil’s Facebook followers can enter the free prize draw to win the hand labelled 70cl bottle from now until midnight on Sunday 16th December. To enter, simply like and share Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil’s competition post on their facebook page, and comment with your suggestion of a name for this very exclusive gin.
