A Brush With Hockney’ at The White Swan Inn

The White Swan Inn in Pickering, North Yorkshire has revealed a new mid-week break which looks set to become the ultimate art lover’s retreat. The hotel, renowned for its fantastic Yorkshire food and hospitality, is offering guests the chance to walk in the footsteps of David Hockney and explore the countryside that so inspired the famous artist.

The David Hockney experience includes a two night mid-week stay at The White Swan Inn, hearty English breakfasts and delicious evening meals. Guests are invited to tour the local sights cherished by Hockney and can book the hotel’s iPad, featuring the new Paint application, endorsed and used by Hockney himself. With this guests can tap into their own creativity by capturing the unique and beautiful countryside of the North Yorkshire Moors, which surrounds the cosy inn.

It is this very countryside which inspired this year’s ‘David Hockney: A Bigger Picture’ exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts, celebrating the artist’s return to his Yorkshire roots. Guests at The White Swan Inn can explore first hand this unspoilt slice of England, wandering around the sights of the Hockney Trail or browsing the local art galleries and antiques shops. A luxurious picnic hamper prepared by the hotel’s own deli, Feast, is also included for those who have chosen to enjoy ‘A Brush With Hockney’.

After a day spent exploring the local area, guests return to the warmth and comfort of the old 16th century coaching inn and can unwind in an elegant Vintage Nest room with signature bathroom, full of little luxuries.
