A deli-cious new venture Britain’s first farm shop launches its own in-store deli

Food from round the corner has been the mainstay of Hinchliffe’s Farm Shop since it opened in 1974. But now, while British ““ and more specifically Yorkshire ““ produce will remain at the heart of the business, the Huddersfield foodie favourite is expanding its culinary horizons.

The store, part of a family farming business run by four generations of Hinchliffes since 1929, is launching a new in-store deli stocked with top quality produce from around the world, including a diverse range of continental cheeses and meat.

‘Local produce will always be at the heart of everything we do, including our deli,’ said Simon Hirst. ‘But we thought this was the perfect opportunity to introduce our customers to some new treats from around the world.

‘We’re sure they’ll enjoy journeying round the gastro globe with our friendly, knowledgeable staff as their travel guides, trying new products and exploring new flavours. It goes without saying though that we’ll always make sure they return home to Yorkshire, the home of great food and the heart of our pasture to plate ethos.’

Hinchliffe’s deli is stocked with the very best cheese, meat, condiments and delicacies from Yorkshire, the UK and around the world. It’s been designed to work in tandem with the ever-popular farm shop, which prides itself on stocking fresh, quality food from a hand-picked range of tried and tested local producers.

Whether customers are stocking up for the week or looking for a treat not readily available on the high street, Hinchliffe’s Farm Shop is the stress-free, friendly alternative to the supermarket. It also has the added bonus of an on-site butchery which provides impeccable cuts of meat from the family’s own farm, which also supplies the shop with chickens and eggs (although which comes first remains a mystery), and a diverse range of produce ““ taking in everything from pickles, pies, jams and juices to artisan beers, organic wines and fresher than fresh fruit and veg.

‘There are already lots of good reasons to shop with us at Hinchliffe’s,’ said Simon. ‘Now, with the addition of our new deli, we’re making ourselves even more indispensable to shoppers who value great food in great surroundings.’
