An Afternoon of Cheese and Wine

For the first time, The Cooking School at Dean Clough is offering an afternoon course at under £50 per person. An afternoon of Cheese and Wine will take place on 24 November and will involve the fantastic Cryer and Stott Cheesemakers and the Yorkshire Wine School.

Owner of Cryer and Stott Richard Holmes, who launched a special cheese and provided 6 tonnes of it for the Olympics earlier this year, is excited to select a range of world-famous cheeses for the course from the selection they provide to some of the UK’s leading restaurants, hotels, horse race meetings, and directors’ boxes within leading football stadiums.

Laura Kent, who runs the highly successful Yorkshire Wine School is also excited about providing her knowledge as a Wine Education to customers and will be selecting wines that can be sourced locally.

Customers will be able to taste a range of wines and ports and learn how to match them with cheese, as well as doing some practical hands on cooking and having plenty of take home items as well.

Director of The Cooking School Matthew Benson-Smith comments “This is a great course in the run up to the end of the year as we know people are planning their entertaining and looking for new ideas. Not everyone can spare the time for a full day course with us, so this is a great alternative.”

The course is running on 24 November from 1.00pm to 4.00pm and places can be booked at www.thecookingschool.co.uk or 01422 383912.
