In the spring of this year members were informed that Deliciouslyorkshire (DY) was in discussion with Welcome to Yorkshire (WTY) over a possible merger of the two organisations to raise the profile of Yorkshire food and drink.
The DY Board were always insistent that if a merger with WTY were to proceed, all the benefits currently enjoyed by our members must be maintained and that the varied interests of producers and hospitality / service providers should be fully recognised.
WTY have now informed the Deliciouslyorkshire Board that they no longer wish to proceed with the merger and those discussions are now at an end.
Whilst it is disappointing that despite a lot of hard work, it has not been possible to confirm that future arrangement, the board is confident that Deliciouslyorkshire has a bright future and having been in existence for 30 years already, will continue to provide a valuable range of services to its members for many years to come.
Work has now started on our much-loved Taste Awards which is taking place in November and the Board looks forward to future networking events around the county to showcase the very best of our county’s food and drink businesses.
