Award Success leads to launch of new product line

A North Yorkshire based brewery have launched a brand new range of beers in preparation for celebrating their 25th birthday.

Hambleton Ales new Legend range, compliments its existing range of beers, but has been designed to target the more discerning drinkers by offering a more sophisticated drinking experience.

Nick Stafford, founder of Hambleton Ales said: “2015 has been an incredibly successful year for us.  Our Thoroughbred Pale Ale won the best Beer award at the Deliciouslyorkshire Taste Awards in October and our Gluten Free Ale was awarded the UK and Europe’s Best Gluten Free Beer at the World Beer Awards. This success has inspired us to produce something different, to showcase our 25 years of brewing talent using some of the highest quality malts and hops available.”

This increased alcohol level enables greater appreciation of the flavours within the beer, especially the aromas from the increased hopping level. The brewery is also breaking new ground by packaging the beer in 750ml bottles rather than the more common 500ml or 330ml bottle sizes.

“We believe that the drinking culture in the UK is changing. The Legend range is designed to be shared and enjoyed in the same way that a bottle of fine wine would be. The larger 750ml bottle is perfect for this.”

The new range includes Legend versions of the brewery’s award winning Nightmare Porter, as well as a 6.5% version of As Good As Gold, the company’s popular blonde beer. In line with the brewery’s track record of producing Gluten Free beers for those with Gluten intolerance, As Good As Gold Legend has also been certified as Gluten Free.

“Gone are the days of breweries throwing out standard, boring beers. We take inspiration from beer styles and ingredients from all over the world. That is one of the benefits of being a small producer – we can brew small batches, and trial runs and experiment with new ideas and techniques. “

The new Legend Thoroughbred, based on the beer that won Best Beer award at the Deliciouslyorkshire taste awards, is particularly special. The beer uses a carefully balance mix of hops from the Yakima Valley in the United States, on top of a malt base from locally grown Yorkshire barley, and malted at Thomas Fawcetts & Sons based  in Castleford.
