A family run, Yorkshire business with a passion for spice are celebrating after expanding their ongoing partnership with Booths Supermarkets.
Rafi’s Spicebox, who specialise in recreating home-cooked Indian food will see the introduction of a new concession stand within Booths’ Ilkley supermarket, which follows the success of their stands already featuring in a number of Boots stores.
Rafi’s, who themselves have stores in Suffolk, York, Harrogate, Newcastle and Leeds, will hand blend their spice mixes in store, tailoring them to the customers desired heat strength and taste preferences. Offering over 50 spice recipes the mixes are perfect for creating authentic Indian dishes and flavour combinations at home.
Store Manager at Booths Ilkley, Rachel Costello, said: “We are delighted to be introducing a concession of this kind, and we’re really excited to be working with Rafi’s.
“Our customers will be able to create their own perfect spice blend with the help and expertise of the Rafi’s team – a service that extends beyond that of a normal visit to a deli or supermarket. The team have a wealth of knowledge to share with our customers which we hope will leave them feeling inspired to try something new.”
Established in 1989, Rafi’s Spicebox is owned and run by brothers Kevin and Lee Fernandez whose products are now distributed around the world.
Director Kevin Fernandez said: “I am thrilled to be taking this next step in our journey with Booths – we’re real foodies and can’t wait to share our passion for honest, hand-made, healthy food with Booths customers.
“In addition to stocking a selection of premium brands from soft, doughy naan breads to tangy and tasty pickles and chutneys, we can also help customers introduce seasonal produce into their dishes and help with recommending the best meat or fish for each one.’’
The concession stand will launch in store on the 24th September and customers can look forward to meal planning recommendations, regular in-store tasters, exclusive cooking demonstrations and recipe inspiration both online and through seasonal recipe cards.
