Cooking up success as business expands

Successful Penistone business woman Jacqueline Marsden, who established the company *Penistone Puddings & Pies*, last year, has been awarded a grant to develop the business by the Peak District National Park Authority & Sheffield City Council under the Villages & Communities Together Project.

Penistone Puddings & Pies specialises in producing home-made pies and puddings, and several months ago the company started a new venture offering cookery courses in response to customer feedback. Jacqueline will now use this new funding to expand the cookery course side of the business.

Jacqueline, said: _”The grant will enable the business to purchase new equipment and expand the number of cookery courses we can offer. There is a real demand for good, affordable cookery courses locally, and we find that we are attracting an increasing number of local folks looking for understandable courses delivered in an effective way.”_

The courses are operated from the company’s picturesque headquarters, located at Millhouse Green just outside Penistone. Keen local cooks can get a chance to improve their cake baking skills in May, when the next course takes place featuring the art of baking traditional cakes. There are still places available on this course, which takes place on Friday 18th May. Places cost £45pp and include lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
