Cryer & Stott Unveils New Cheese Blending Facility

Cryer & Stott, one of the UK’s leading artisan cheesemongers, have announced the opening of a new state-of-the-art cheese blending facility based at Allerton Bywater, Castleford.

The new facility will enable the family run businesses, to create new, bold and unique cheese blends, and further collaborate with local producers, drawing inspiration from Yorkshire’s rich culture and history.

To mark the launch, the company have introduced four distinctive new cheeses, each with its own story and local partnership including; Silkstone Seam, an 18-month mature cheddar with a dramatic seam of edible charcoal, created to honour the companies mining village heritage; Knavesmire, 12-month cheddar infused with the vibrant flavours of York Rhubarb Gin; Flagship, a bold cheddar made in collaboration with Filey Bay Whisky Distillers and 1606 Rebel, inspired by the rebellious spirit of Guy Fawkes, and featuring Scotch Bonnet Chilli Jam from fellow Yorkshire producer The Chilli Jam Man.

The milestone represents a bold step forward in the company’s commitment to innovation, tradition, and celebrating regional heritage through cheese.
