CURRY CUISINE CHUTNEYS LISTED IN SAINSBURY’S

West Yorkshire food and cookery business, Curry Cuisine, has secured a regional listing with Sainsbury’s supermarket. The Tingley based company will supply more than 30 Yorkshire stores with three of its award-winning chutneys.

Sainsbury’s will stock the company’s award-winning, premium ‘Chutnees Handmade’ range, including Rhubarb and Mango, a Great Taste Award winner this year; its Luxury Mango Chutney, a Great Taste Award winner 2010 and shortlisted this year for a Deliciouslyorkshire Award, as well as its Yorkshire Rhubarb Chilli jam, the first product allowed to promote the PDO status of Yorkshire Forced Rhubarb.

As part of its retail strategy, Curry Cuisine re-branded its chutneys range under the ‘Chutnee’s Handmade’ name to differentiate its products from the cookery arm of the operation and to appeal to a wider consumer market. The company is proud of its Yorkshire heritage and works with the region’s farmers within a 50 mile radius to source fresh, local ingredients for its handcrafted products wherever possible.

The Sainsbury’s contract supports the company’s strategic growth plans to supply supermarkets with its traditional handmade chutneys and pickles range. Curry Cuisine operates from its purpose built Dewsbury manufacturing facility to service the major multiple market.

Paresh Tejura, operations director, Curry Cuisine said: “We are absolutely delighted to have secured another supermarket listing, as we already supply our products nationally with ASDA. This is further testament to the premium quality of our chutneys and we hope that they are well received by customers. We are very proud of the provenance of our product range and passionate about producing authentic handmade Indian-inspired chutneys with a real Yorkshire flavour.
