Dark Woods Coffee wins the first ever award For Better Business at Great Taste’s Golden Forks 2024.

A West Yorkshire coffee producer is celebrating after being awarded the inaugural For Better Businesses Award at the world’s most prestigious food and drink accolades.

This year’s Great Taste Golden Fork winners were announced at a glittering ceremony in London’s Battersea Arts Centre earlier this month where the award’s winner was unveiled.

The grand finale of the Guild of Fine Food’s Great Taste awards scheme, 16 Great Taste Golden Forks were presented, including two new trophies for Sustainability and Better Business.

The Golden Fork winners are made up of the standout products from nearly 14,000 entered into this year’s Great Taste awards

Dark Woods Coffee triumphed in the category for their values-driven approach to business, the environment and community.

Ian Agnew, Director of Dark Woods Coffee “We’re absolutely delighted to have won this new award. We always do our best to consider the impact we have on the environment, our local community and the global coffee-growing community; and to strive to keep making positive changes. That’s why this award means so much to us, knowing that it recognises our efforts as a business, not just the quality of the coffee we produce”.

John Farrand, managing director of the Guild of Fine Food said: “It is important to understand that Great Taste is merely the process that identifies 1, 2 and 3-star winners and, in doing so, encourages makers to improve. Now at its climax, in announcing the Golden Forks we’re celebrating the very best producers; those who take care to ensure their products hit the markers of trusted raw ingredients, simple production methods, and food and drink that has personality, but ultimately, that tastes great.
