Between whipping up tasty frozen treats on the farm, and organising a jam-packed summer of events, Yummy Yorkshire has scooped two new award nominations.
The Denby Dale-based ice cream company has been announced as a finalist in the Yorkshire Post deliciouslyorkshire Taste Awards (in association with ASDA) for its Chocolate and Amaretti Biscuit ice cream alongside being shortlisted in the Lunch Business ‘Grab & Go Awards’ 2014.
The recent nominations come after a busy summer, which has also seen the business win a Great Taste Award for its Carrot and Cardamom flavour ice cream.
But now Yummy Yorkshire founders Louise and Jeremy Holmes are celebrating once again, after making the top three in the Best Independent Outlet category at the ‘Grab & Go’ lunch business awards. Recognising the great successes in the eating out of home market, the awards scheme will culminate in an event at London Art House in Islington on September 23, at which the overall winners will be celebrated.
The winners of the Yorkshire Post deliciouslyyorkshire Taste Awards meanwhile will be revealed on Wednesday 15 October at an awards ceremony which takes place at the Pavilions of Harrogate. Louise and Jeremy are urging customers and friends to help the business win the ‘Local Food Hero’ category which they have also been shortlisted in.
The family-run business needs everyone to vote to help the company secure the number one spot in the public poll as the region’s ‘Local Food Hero’. Launching something of a ‘cow-paign’, which sees Yummy Yorkshire’s mascot ‘Camilla the Cow’ run for ‘election’ in a series of posters and leaflets, the company is giving customers the chance to win ice cream sundaes for the whole family in return for a vote here.
