Devonshire Arms to hold Taste of Yorkshire Food week

To celebrate the arrival of one of Britain’s new young culinary stars to the acclaimed Burlington Restaurant, The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa is hosting a ‘Taste of Yorkshire’ Food Week, from Tuesday, November 8th to Saturday, November 12th.

Burlington1Head Chef, Paul Evans joined the team this summer from Lords of the Manor Hotel, having previously worked in some of the UK’s finest Michelin-starred restaurants, including L’Enclume, Waterside Inn at Bray and The Crown Inn at Whitebrook.

The Devonshire Arms will kick off this exciting week of celebrations by offering a wide variety of tasty experiences loved by Yorkshire folk from a pie & a pint, to fine dining with Paul’s new eight-course taster menu, an evening dedicated to the season’s new wine selection and even the Nation’s favourite, Fish & Chips, served straight to the Dales, courtesy of ‘Trenchers’ at Whitby.

The week’s programme includes:

Tuesday 8th Nov The Brasserie is hosting a ‘Pie & a Pint Day’, enjoy one of our three locally-sourced seasonal pies homemade in our Brasserie kitchen.  Three Yorkshire bitters are on offer to accompany the pies, including Black Sheep and Copper Dragon.

Wednesday 9th Nov Paul Evans’ passion, creativity and technical skill are unleashed with the launch of his new season’s eight-course taster menu in The Burlington Restaurant.  The new Head Chef weaves his culinary magic with foods sourced mainly from Yorkshire farms and fields, including produce from the hotel’s Walled Gardens, and honey harvested from our own hives.

Thursday 10th Nov A special celebratory evening of wines, as the new season’s list, chosen by experts in association with our very own cellar team, is unveiled to complement a six-course tasting menu. Four wines have been especially selected to go with this superb celebration of wining and dining and the experts will be on hand at the event to discuss their choices and field any questions.

 Friday 11th Nov Trenchers of Whitby, once cited by celebrity Chef James Martin as one of his favourite restaurants, will be bringing their Head fryer and four of their favourite dishes to the Dales for a celebration of the Nation’s favourite take-away.

Saturday 12th Nov An evening of fine dining, dedicated to the enjoyment of the new eight-course taster menu in the Burlington Restaurant.
