DOUBLE AWARD WINS FOR CURRY CUISINE

Tingley based food and cookery company, Curry Cuisine, enjoyed a double celebration last night when it picked up two prestigious regional awards. The company’s Luxury Mango Chutney picked up a much coveted Deliciouslyorkshire Award for best savoury condiment and Curry Cuisine was also named SME Business of the Year 2012 in the Dewsbury Reporter Series Business Awards.

The Deliciouslyorkshire award was presented at a glittering ceremony held at the National Railway Museum, York, attended by the region’s top food producers and the business award was announced at a dinner held at The Gomersal Park Hotel, Gomersal, hosted by BBC Look North’s Clare Frisby, showcasing and celebrating the best of business enterprise in the North Kirklees and South Bradford.

The winning Deliciouslyorkshire product is an indulgent Mango Chutney infused with saffron and freshly roasted spices and is no stranger to accolades as it’s also a Great Taste Award winner (2010).

Seen as the Oscars of the food industry, the Deliciouslyorkshire awards recognise the fantastic food and drink companies across the Yorkshire and Humber region. Award-winning chefs, producers, retailers and food and drink writers spent two full days judging 280 entries submitted in 19 award categories recognising among others, bakery, dairy, farmshops, meat, poultry and game producers, deliciouslyorkshire brand champion, outstanding newcomer and the overall supreme product of 2012.

The 15-strong independent judging panel included Alison Sawyer, local sourcing and technical manager for ASDA which is the awards main sponsor this year.
