The team at an East Yorkshire poultry business is celebrating after reaching the final of a prestigious regional business award.
Middleton on the Wolds based Soanes Poultry has been shortlisted in the ‘Large Business’ category in the 21st annual Hull Daily Mail Business Awards that recognise and celebrate the brilliance shown by the companies and individuals in the region who have kept the economy going during an unprecedented and challenging year.
Ben Lee, Soanes Poultry’s Head of Sales and Marketing said: “The ‘Large Business’ category celebrates those businesses who have performed well in terms of managerial and financial performance, staff training and development, potential for growth and long-term strategy.
“Our team have worked round the clock since March to keep local butchers supplied with our award-winning chicken and this is amazing news and something to look forward to as we approach our busiest time of year.”
The family owned business have been rearing and preparing high quality, award winning chicken for the last 73 years and supply butchers and independent retailers throughout Yorkshire and wholesalers nationwide.
During the 2020 lockdown the Soanes team supported their local community by making weekly donations of chicken to Hull based charity EMS which works with residents, community groups and other local businesses in the region to alleviate food poverty

Soanes Poultry faces competition in the final from North Newbald based Rockar, who provide e-Commerce solutions for car manufacturers and dealers. The winners are scheduled to be announced at an event at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Hull on March 11th which will be hosted by BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin.
