East Yorkshire brewery to host open day to celebrate 20th anniversary

The team at a Yorkshire Wolds brewery are hosting an open day this summer to celebrate 20 years in business.

Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery is inviting people to help celebrate 20 years of brewing at an event on 3rd June, where the brewery will be open it’s doors between 10 – 4pm for tours, demos and live music, as well as a bar and food being available throughout.

Brewery director Kate Balchin, who is the second generation to work in the business, originally set up by her parents, Tom and Gill Mellor on the family farm at Hunmanby Grange in 2003 said: “We’re excited to reach this milestone anniversary and would love people to join in the celebrations and taste our special anniversary ale, ‘20 Ears’.”

Tours of the brewery will take place at 10.45am, 12.45pm and 2.45pm, with talks from sister company, Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery also available.  In addition to the tours, cake and coffee stalls will be open throughout, as well as a fish and chip van.

The open day is one of a series of events taking place throughout the year to mark the milestone, with a beer festival, live theatre, cycling sportive and the inaugural Wold Top 10k trail run also planned.
