East Yorkshire businesses battle it out for the Yorkshire Post Environment Awards

Friendly farming rivalry has broken out as it was announced that two East Yorkshire farming families have reached the final of the Yorkshire Post Environment Awards.
Triple Green business award winning Wold Top Brewery faces tough competition from organic Carr House Farm at Foston on the Wolds in the Countryside category of the Yorkshire Post Environment Awards 2014.

On the shortlist, Gill Mellor from Wold Newton business, Wold Top Brewery said: “It’s really encouraging that the only two finalists in this category are from East Yorkshire and that we’re putting environmentally responsible Yorkshire Wolds businesses on the map.”

The winners will be announced at a Celebratory Dinner at The Queens Hotel, Leeds on 16th June that will be hosted by Liz Green from BBC Radio Leeds. The Rt Hon Greg Barker, Minister of State for the Department of Energy and Climate Change will be the guest speaker.
