The team at Soanes Poultry are celebrating after reaching the final of the Best Poultry Product category in the annual Food Management Today awards with their Yorkshire Christmas Cockerel.
Factory manager, Dmitrijus Solovjovas, said: “Our Yorkshire Christmas Cockerel is a delicious alternative to turkey and proved very successful last Christmas, so we’re delighted it has been judged worthy of a place in the final against some industry giants.”
The Awards are a celebration of the creativity, innovation and excellence of the British food industry. Judged on taste, packaging, aroma, visual appeal and cooking performance, the team face competition from several other businesses from across the country and will learn whether they have been successful at an event in London on 12th June.
Family-owned Soanes Poultry has been rearing and preparing chicken on Yorkshire farms since 1947. Employing over 180 people they sell their chicken to butchers and independent retailers throughout Yorkshire, and to wholesalers and catering butchers nationwide.
