Filey Food and Drink Festival

The first ever Food and Drink Festival will be taking place in the seaside town of Filey on the 13th and 14th of October this year, the town that has been invaded by the Vikings, Romans and the Normans to name but a few is to be invaded again by Foodies- but with more benevolent intentions. Stalls will include free-range local pork, chocolates, prize winning pies, bread, home cooked meals, cheeses and much more.

Cooking demonstrations will include Salvatore Gaccicchio Chef /Proprietor of Fileys Bella Italia cooking Black Pasta with a special home-made sauce.
Juliette Fordon Brown of Hayloft Foods winner of two gold stars in the Guild of Fine Food Taste awards and Masterchef Finalist will be cooking and exhibiting on the 14th.

Chefs from Desispice will be mixing Yorkshire game with Eastern spices
Chefs from Gold River will be demonstrating Chinese soup
Kate Landels representing the Station Hotel will be potting crab for one of the demonstrations. More demos will be announced shortly
Bonhommes bar on the Crescent will be having a Yorkshire beer festival for the full week and will include Filey brewed ales, which will include a special festival beer that will have to be drunk with caution.

The White Lodge Hotel will be hosting their own Yorkshire beer festival including hand pulled beers from all over Yorkshire and bottled Ampleforth cider Guest barman will be Lex Austin a well-known and long serving Filey landlord.
Other restaurants and pubs will be hosting their own Yorkshire events
This will be all be taking place overlooking the iconic Bay where the townsfolk stood watching, part of the American Navy do battle with British Navy ships protecting the Baltic Fleet at the battle of Flamborough Head in 1779.
