Fodder Flushed with Joy to Win Best Loo in Britain

Fodder, the Yorkshire Agricultural Society’s flagship food hall, has been crowned the winner of the National Loo of the Year Awards in the Cafe and Shops Category 2013.

The annual Loo of the Year Awards, sponsored by the British Toilet Association, sees judges inspecting toilets across the country in its quest to find the best ‘away from home’ public toilets Britain has to offer.

The customer toilets at Fodder were inspected on two occasions by independent inspectors who visited unannounced. They were inspected against extensive judging criteria, including signage, decor and maintenance, cleanliness, hygiene equipment and overall management and customer care.

Judges were impressed with the cleanliness and overall ambience of the toilet facilities at Fodder, as well as the recycled toilet doors made entirely from plastic bottles. The inspectors were also impressed with the loos’ flushing system which uses rain water collected from the roof and the sensor taps which ensure water is not wasted.

Heather Parry, Managing Director of Fodder, says; “We’re very proud to be able to offer our customers the best loos in Britain! We believe that maintaining high quality toilet facilities is a reflection on a business and we are pleased to be upholding a high standard of decor and cleanliness across all of our amenities.

“We were determined to make our building as environmentally friendly as possible and it’s a great to be recognised for this. I’d like to thank my fantastic team of staff who work very hard to ensure we provide the best possible customer experience for our customers.”
