Food & Wine Week a deliciously successful celebration!

Last week, The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa last week welcomed some of the UK’s most acclaimed chefs for a week of exciting cooking events. The hugely successful annual Food & Wine Week got underway on Monday the 1st of December and included a week of lunches, dinners and other entertainment to celebrate all things food and wine.

Adam Smith, Head Chef of the 3AA Rosette Burlington Restaurant at The Dev’ took the lead during the much anticipated Food and Wine Week. The Dev’ welcomed Michelin starred chefs Andrew Pern from The Star Inn, Mark Birchall from Simon Rogan’s restaurant L’enclume in Cartmel, James Mackenzie from The Pipe & Glass; alongside other highly acclaimed chefs including Tom Bilton from The Spiced Pear, Nigel Haworth from Northcote Manor and Lee Bennett from Crafthouse.

Adam Smith spoke proudly about having such a prestigious event held at The Dev: “It’s an magnificent to see such an impressive group of chefs all come to The Dev’ to join in our celebration of all things food and wine. Here at The Burlington restaurant we are really passionate about the produce we serve so it’s wonderful to see our guests join in and share this passion with us.”

The week long foodie celebration saw guests wowed by the fabulous selection of delicious food and drink, with impressive menus containing locally sourced and foraged produce.

The Dev’s very own award winning Cellar Master, Nigel Fairclough, expertly chose wines for each delectable dish throughout the course of the week. On the final evening wine specialist Joe Fattorini held a spectacular wine event where his passion and knowledge ensured a true tasting experience for diners.
