Food and drink producers from across Yorkshire are celebrating a standout year after the Guild of Fine Food unveiled the results of the prestigious 2026 Great Taste Awards.
Widely regarded as the “Oscars of the food and drink industry”, Great Taste is the world’s largest and most trusted accreditation scheme, attracting more than 15,000 entries from across the globe. Products are judged purely on taste through a rigorous blind-tasting process, led by panels of industry experts including chefs, buyers, food writers and retailers.
This year, more than 200 products produced in Yorkshire were awarded coveted Great Taste stars, with each recognised at 1, 2 and 3-star levels. Achieving a 3-star award places a product among the very best in the world, with only around 2% of entries reaching this highest accolade.
Among the region’s top performers were Coffee Care for its Espresso Lorenzo, Just Desserts with its traditional Yorkshire Brack, Shepherds Purse Cheeses for Bluemin White, Warrendale Wagyu for its Brisket, and Wass Farm Ltd near Ampleforth, which achieved the rare distinction of winning two 3-star awards for its Mangalitsa Fennel Salami and Mangalitsa Coppa.
West Yorkshire’s Dark Woods Coffee also impressed judges, securing an outstanding eleven 2-star awards alongside five 1-star accolades.
The results once again highlight Yorkshire’s reputation as a powerhouse of exceptional food and drink, with producers continuing to set the standard for quality, craftsmanship and flavour.
