The team at the Harewood Food and Drink Project have taken over the running of the Courtyard Cafe and newly renamed Terrace Tearoom on behalf of Harewood House Trust.
This means that members and visitors to the historic house can now enjoy food sourced, wherever possible, from the Estate itself including the magnificent Harewood Walled Garden, re-enforcing both the HF & DP and HHT’s commitment to promoting sustainable living.
Their approach will be based around the 5 S’s – Simple, Seasonal, Sourced Locally, Sustainable and
Specials.
The menu itself has been designed and will be overseen by Executive Chef, Josh Whitehead who was recently named as “Chef of the Year” at the Yorkshire Evening Post Oliver Awards.
HF & DP Managing Director Eddy Lascelles said: “We’re delighted to be taking on the contract for catering across the Courtyard Café, Terrace Tearoom and working as one of the preferred event partners for Harewood House.
“We’ll be using estate produce wherever possible which means minimal environmental impact of the food we’re serving, ensuring it’s at its freshest for visitors and members. We can’t wait to get going again.”
Head of Trading at Harewood House Rachel Crewes said: “We’re really excited to be working with Harewood Food and Drink Project to deliver our brand-new food offer at Harewood. Earlier this year we underwent a competitive tender process to select a new partner and HF&DP really impressed us in terms of their commitment to menu innovation, quality, provenance and sustainability.
“During our closed season, our Courtyard Café and Terrace Tearoom have undergone a refurbishment and we look forward to opening them alongside some delicious new menus to our Members and visitors as soon as it’s safe to do so.”
Harewood House currently remains closed to visitors but the plan is to reopen the grounds and gardens later this month with takeaways available from the Courtyard Café although the Terrace Tearoom will remain closed until further notice.
