HECK! to host Little Farmers Discovery Day

Wannabe little farmers are invited to Bedale-based HECK! HQ for their first Little Farmers Discovery Day.

Taking place on Saturday 11 May between 9.30 – 11.30am, the hands-on, experience is aimed at giving under 10s their first taste of growing food and learning how it goes from field to fork.

Led by members of the HECK! team, participants will be able to roll up their sleeves, plant their own micro greens to take home and plant vegetables in the garden before tucking into a free HECK! Dog.

Other activities include a mini tractor circuit, play area and tracker-themed colouring station, as well as a competition to name the new HECK! tractor.

HECK! Little Farmers tickets cost £9.95 and children must be accompanied by at least one paying adult. For more information and to book online visit www.heckfood.co.uk

The event comes hot on the heels of HECK! launching their 2024 Community Fund.  A celebration of local community, its aim is to recognise and support individuals and smaller organisations making a real impact in their communities.

Every month, HECK! will add money into the Fund and invite individuals and organisations to share their stories and needs.

Jamie Keeble, HECK co-founder said: “The HECK! Community Fund embodies our commitment to giving back, whether through financial support, volunteering our team’s time or helping community events with product and prize donations.”

Regular HECK! community events include Souper Fridays where the team helps serve soup in the local village, the company’s monthly free community lunches as well a host of other seasonal events that are free for local people to enjoy.

Individuals and organisations interested in applying for HECK! Community Funding can get in touch via their website.
