A new food hall stocking a huge array of locally sourced food and drink has opened as part of the new Tingley Garden Centre.
The sister site of Tong Garden Centre, opened its doors to the public in September following a £14 million investment.
The new complex is home to the 300 m2 Hearty’s Food Hall, the 300-seat Blooms Kitchen and a brand new botanically themed restaurant, The Garden Room that can seat 140 and specialises in lunch and Afternoon Teas.
Head of Food, Sarah Dwyer said: “We’re delighted with our food and drink offering at Tingley. Our new Hearty’s Food Hall is full of fantastic Yorkshire produce including savouries from Stephenson’s Pies and The Original Baker, whose products also feature in the Garden Room’s Afternoon Teas, a new range of take-home curries from Aagrah, sweet treats from Lottie Shaw’s and Grandma Wilds and new gins from York Gin and Whitby Gin. Our meat offering is local too with a prepacked range from expert butchers at Blacker Hall Farm.”
The centre has been designed to make the most of the natural landscape and has been developed with sustainability in mind, with air source heating, a solar array, rainwater harvesting tank and 57 electric vehicle charging points, including 4 rapid chargers.
