Jervaulx Abbey in Lights Event

The team at award winning Jerveaulx Abbey tearoom are running their popular Jervaulx in Lights event for a third year next week in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The popular family owned attraction and tearoom near Masham in North Yorkshire will illuminate the Abbey over four evenings in October on Friday 18th – Saturday 19th and Friday 25th – Saturday 26th from 5-9pm.

As well as the fantastic spectacle of the Abbey illuminated in an array of lights, the atmosphere will be further enhanced by live music played from the centre of the Abbey in the cloisters and wood burners to warm up visitors curtesy of local firm The Log Company.

The Abbey Tea Rooms themselves will be open throughout the evening for visitors to enjoy some of their award winning fare and warm up with a hot chocolate and a slice of cake.

The only privately owned Abbey in the country, Jervaulx has been in the care of the Burdon family for many years who host weddings and fundraising events in its beautiful and historic grounds.

Anna Burdon said: “We’re really looking forward to holding our third annual Jervaulx in Lights event to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.  There is always a great atmosphere on an evening in the Abbey with the lights and the music after dark and it’s lovely to see so many new faces enjoying the Abbey in this way.

As well as our own fantastic staff, we’re lucky to be so well supported by local companies including Countryside Events who provide the lights themselves, The Log Company and Winstanley’s from Leyburn who provide the generators.”

Entrance costs £7.50 for adults and £5 for children.  For more information visit www.jervaulxabbey.com
